These are pewter dolphins on surgical steel French hooks. They measure approximately 0.88 inches from nose to tail by 0.38 inches high, and the earrings hang approximately 1.25 inches long from the top of the hook.

Pewter is a soft metal alloy mainly comprised of tin, with copper, antimony, and other elements added for strength. Usually, pewter contains 85-99% tin. It may sometimes contain trace amounts of lead, and therefore, it is not suitable for children. Pewter is usually a silver or antiqued silver color, and it does not oxidize or tarnish easily.
